Leghorn Chickens are egg laying machines. They will lay about every 27 hours. They are the
preferred chicken for those seeking hens for egg laying purposes. They are not extremely
loveable so if you are wanting a pet, this is not your bird. They are impressive foragers. They
love to free-range. I would recommend keeping a rooster with them for purposes of protection.
The roosters are great at detecting threats and getting the girls rounded up. Leghorns will lay
up into their 4th year so this makes them a good value if you need eggs.
